Ahead of Francis Ngannou's heavyweight bout against Cain Velasquez on 17th February 2019, I was commissioned to design the official fight t-shirt for the event. The concept was inspired by Ngannou's nickname, "The Predator", drawing influence from the iconic thermal imaging aesthetic associated with the Predator film franchise.
The artwork combines a striking heat-map style portrait with bold typography and distressed textures to create a design that reflects Ngannou's power, intensity and larger-than-life presence inside the octagon. The final design was produced for official merchandise and worn by fans throughout fight week and on event night.
